Di Cicco Broccoli:

Di Ciccio Broccoli is known for its long, slender stems and small florets. It has a slightly sweeter, more intense flavor than regular broccoli. It’s great eaten raw, but it really shines when cooked quickly over high heat. Try it in stir-fries, roasted with garlic, pastas, or scattered over pizza where the florets crisp up and add a sweet, earthy bite. Looking for more ways to use it? Check out some other recipe ideas here.

Nantes Carrots:

Our Nantes carrots are sweet, tender, and pulled young by hand for the best flavor. These French heirlooms have smooth skin and a crisp bite, way better than the woody carrots you find at the store. Enjoy them raw with hummus, sliced into salads, or roasted to bring out their natural sweetness. They’re also great for juicing! Store in the fridge (without the greens) and use within a couple of weeks for the freshest taste.

Green Cabbage:

Green cabbage is crisp and crunchy when raw with a mildly peppery, slightly sweet flavor. Once cooked, it softens and takes on a mellow, earthy taste. It’s super versatile! You can bake, sauté it, pickle it, toss it into salads and slaws, or add it to soups, stews, and stir-fries. Besides being easy to cook with, cabbage is also nutrient-packed, offering lots of vitamin C, vitamin K, and plenty of fiber.

Escarole:

Escarole is one of the milder, slightly sweeter members of the chicory family. It has a gentle bitterness that softens when cooked, becoming tender and savory. It also holds up well to braising, sautéing, roasting, and simmering. Escarole can be eaten raw in salads, and it pairs especially well with fat, salt, and acidity. It also works great in soups, stews, pasta, risotto, or cooked with beans.

White Cauliflower:

White cauliflower is a super versatile veggie with a dense, creamy-white head made of tightly packed florets. It has a mild, slightly nutty flavor that gets even better when cooked. Raw, it’s crisp and crunchy; cooked, it turns tender and a little creamy. You can toss cauliflower into just about anything: roast it in the oven, sauté it, fry it, steam it, or add it to soups, pastas, and stir-fries. It’s also great mashed, puréed, or chopped into “rice” for quick bowls and weeknight meals. Cauliflower takes on flavors easily, pairing well with warm spices like cumin or curry, and with cheeses like cheddar or Parmesan.

Yellow Finn Potatoes:

Yellow Finn potatoes are beloved for their rich, buttery-sweet flavor and moist, creamy texture. Slightly sweeter than Yukon Gold, they have just enough waxiness to hold their shape while still mashing beautifully. These “flaky starch nuggets” excel in dishes where their ability to absorb flavor really shines. They’re ideal for french fries, roasting, scalloped potatoes, and potato soups. They perform equally well boiled, fried, baked, or mashed. Their firm yet tender texture also makes them a great choice for potato salads.

Gold Oak Mandarins:

This week you received either Tango or Gold Nugget mandarins. Do you notice a difference? I find the Gold Nuggets have the best texture, while the Tangos tend to be a bit sweeter. Both are juicy with a rich citrus flavor! Perfect for snacking or adding a bright citrus kick to salads, desserts, or savory dishes. Grab them while you can! They come from Gold Oak Ranch, a farm built on a 20-year partnership between Jose Luis Melendez and David Scheuring.
